LIFE IS SHORT BUT HERE WE ARE!
There I was, standing in the middle of an Alpine meadow. As far as the eye could see, there was lush green grass and flowers. It was so picture-perfect, like vibrant Technicolor. I knew that this had to be a dream. Tippi, my doggy buddy, comes running up to me, like she always does, tail wiggling, ears flapping, tongue dangling. I pet her head, rub her body, clean out dead hair with my hands and stretch her back, like I always do. We stand together for a while, looking around and just enjoying the day. She sees something fun: a squirrel? She takes off, eyes on the prize and gives chase. I watch her run off, further and further away, until she’s a little white dot and then she disappears altogether over the natural curve of the land. I’m suddenly sure that she’s dead and this dream is her last message to me. I wake in a jolt. I’m relieved to find Tippi asleep next to me, alive and well. The next morning we go to the park. I’m so grateful for this moment! We still have this very moment, alive, enjoying each other’s company.
